A Caring Neighbor
“A Caring Neighbor” is cute story by Kube Publishing , though I did feel like it was preachy.⠀ ⠀ It is more suited to kids ages 6 and up, who don’t mind the lack of pictures. It was also wordy, but the message did come through in the end.⠀ ⠀ The story tells how Nazia’s neighbor, Mrs. Ahmad, falls ill and is taken to the hospital. She leaves behind her young twins Yasmin and Amel, who are scared and crying for their mother. Nazia takes care of them and spends her day helping her mother cook a meal for Mrs. Ahmad, and then visit her at the hospital.⠀ ⠀ Nazia is taught by her mother that taking care of a neighbor is one of the most important duties of a Muslim.⠀ ⠀ This reminds me of the Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh):⠀ ⠀ “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbor to his side goes hungry.”⠀ ⠀ Do we take care of our neighbors, making sure that they are not in need of food or care? ⠀
Subhan Allah belief is not just a state of our heart, but it is also about actions and how we affect our community. ⠀ ⠀ Even if you haven’t ever met your neighbor yet, it is not too late! Now you can go out of your way to greet them and check up on them. Maybe even prepare a Ramadan gift basket to give them before the holy month. (Ideas for this to come insha Allah)⠀ ⠀ May Allah strengthen our faith and help us in taking care of our families, friends, neighbors, and communities.⠀ ⠀ Get your copy at Precious pearls for 4.99 usd.
