A Whale of A Wish
This is a story about Prophet Yunus (AS) and his tale of being swallowed by the whale. But what makes this unique is the fact that it is told from the whale’s perspective! I also loved the pictures of the sea and how the story was told in engaging rhyme. ⠀ The whale loves helping other sea creatures out, and wishes that he can be a good whale and serve Allah! One day, he is ordered by Allah to swallow Prophet Yunus (AS) when he was thrown off the deck of a small ship during a scary storm. The whale obeys Allah’s order, and listens to the Prophet’s duaas to Allah to forgive his mistake. Prophet Yunus’s mistake was giving up on his people and leaving on a boat without asking Allah’s permission. Allah saved Prophet Yunus (AS) from the whale and ordered it to return him to the land. ( Prophet Yunus (AS) returned to his people to find that they had accepted worshipping Allah in his absence, and it was a lesson about Allah’s power of guiding whom he wills and about not giving up in preaching about good to people)⠀ The whale was very proud to be a part of this special story that all Muslims still relate to this day.⠀ ⠀ “Whale of a Wish” is a beautiful story by @razana_noor or with beautiful pictures and lovely rhyme.⠀ ⠀ I love how the book includes the duaa of Prophet Yunus (AS). It is very important to teach to our children and learn to say ourselves.⠀ ⠀ لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ⠀ ⠀ la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina althalimeen⠀ ⠀ “None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers."⠀ ⠀ Ameen
