Aisha Goes in Search of Color
Aisha is a colorless caterpillar that turns into a colorless butterfly. She makes a prayer to Allah to gain some color. She does a few good deeds and gets a few colored spots and then she realizes that the more good she does the more colorful she gets. At the end of the book she has transformed into the most beautiful butterfly and realizes that beauty is from within and more about character and how that shines through outwards.⠀ ⠀ This book from Kube Publishing is not only an Islamic story but a science lesson. It uses words such as “pupa” and “proboscis” to teach about the lifestyle of a caterpillar and butterfly. It also talks about the foods they eat and how they transform. ⠀ ⠀ My kids really enjoyed the colorful pictures and even my baby loved the vibrant colors. They also enjoyed the funny terms and make-believe land in the story called Bubblesville, and all the funny details about it.⠀ ⠀ I did find it a little long, with a little too much information at times, but the solution would be to split it into two readings, which I did. You could potentially divide the book into the before chrysalis stage and after.⠀
I can see this be used for color crafts and teaching kids about butterflies! ⠀ Get yours from Precious pearls
