Eleven stars, and the Sun and the Moon
This was in some of the second @bismillahboxkids which had the theme-⠀ Reach for Jannah: Space⠀ ⠀ Rating: 8/10⠀ ⠀ We love this coloring book from @goodwordbooks . The significance of the title “Eleven Stars, and the Sun, and the Moon” is in regards to the dream of Prophet Yusuf (AS) when he was young.⠀ ⠀ This dream was when the Prophet Yusuf (AS) saw eleven stars and the sun and moon in his dream prostrating to him. He wakes up and runs to his father, Prophet Yaqub (AS), who comforts him and recognizes his importance (dreams are a sign of prophethood). He also tells him not to mention his dream to anyone, even his brothers.⠀ ⠀ One note- I couldn’t find any sources that the Prophet Yaqub (AS) and his family lived in tents, even though this is mentioned.⠀ ⠀ The coloring book relates the story that Yusuf’s brothers throw him into a well, but that he is saved from it by a man Al-Aziz who decides to “adopt” him. It ends with saying that Allah saves those who are patient and follow the right path.⠀ ⠀ I do wish the book elaborated what the dream meant in the end, and how it was significant in Yusuf’s life later on, when his parents and siblings bow down to him after he becomes King of Egypt.⠀ ⠀ The coloring pages are beautiful and my kids loved the pictures, and the words are at the bottom of the page and not too much for the children to see. I do wish the grammar was corrected a little better and the wording more appropriate for kids.⠀ ⠀ The book is high quality and the pictures of space are so adorable!⠀ ⠀ I do love how this dream of space and this story inspires kids to learn about Islamic history and learn that through patience and good deeds, they can reach for Jannah inshaAllah!⠀ ⠀ This is also sold individually by @islamicbooks4kids.usa ⠀ Subscribe to @bismillahboxkids for more fun items.
