Ibrahim the Builder

Another beautiful book from the Lunar Learners Prophet series! ⠀ ⠀ This book’s topic is about Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and how he and his son Prophet Ismael built the Kaaba together. It is not too long and flows beautifully. ⠀ I love how the text uses animals to relate the stories of the Prophets as they “observe what is going on”. The rhythm of the book and the funny descriptions and different verbs used help keep the children entertained with the text.⠀ ⠀ The illustrations are beautiful, and they show the Kaabah being built and even show the black stone “of Jannah” and explain what it is in a way easy for kids to understand.⠀ ⠀ The book discusses Hajj and explains Salat and Qiblah and how the Kaabah is central to our religion. ⠀ ⠀ The animals in the end make their own prayer to Allah, which is so beautiful and inspires kids to make their own prayers too and it even brought up the issue that Animals (and even inanimate objects like trees and mountains) worship Allah and pray in their own way. (This was exciting for my kids to hear!) ⠀ I really love how this series explores small parts of the events in the Prophets’ lives but manages to be chock full of Islamic morals, without being preachy, and while also being easy and attractive for kids.⠀ ⠀ Migo and Ali are in my opinion a staple in each Muslims home for kids ages 6 and up, and I would also say that this series is a must-have for kids ages 3-6, as its simplicity is a good introduction for little ones that might not be able to understand everything about the full stories, but still should be taught about them.⠀ ⠀ Get yours from Crescent Moon Store and use the coupon MUSLIMMOMMYBLOG for ten percent off your order.
