Owl and Cat prepare their bags and head out to Hajj. The book is divided by days, with each day having its own colored number page and color tab. This was in my opinion what made the book unique and the most useful part.⠀

The division of the book and then the step by step format is helpful for kids learning the steps of Hajj, and I can see this being used as a learning resource.⠀

The words were arranged on one side and the pictures on a whole different side, which helped the book feel organized and easy to read. This can be independently read by kids ages 6-9.⠀

That being said, I did find it a little distracting that they repeated the “on this day of hajj...this happened” every step of the way. I felt like it made the steps a little confusing. Using the words first, next, last etc.. would have been better.⠀

Also, the pages of the book were a little papery (like a coloring book) and the illustrations were just okay. ⠀

I would probably use this more to teach about hajj than as a story-time tool, but my kids still loved it and they learned a lot!
