It is so far made up of four books, and I can’t wait to read more in the future!⠀ ⠀ Sadiq is such an adorable little Somali-American Muslim boy, and he is relatable to readers, while at the same time completely comfortable balancing both his cultures. (So relatable to kids of other mixed cultures!)⠀ ⠀ These stories are perfect for young readers in grades first through fourth. Each story has a lesson to teach, and each educational theme also has some Somali culture influence to it. It is really fabulous and a must-have for EVERY young child!⠀ ⠀ Each story is absolutely character building, not to mention it teaches the child reader how to deal with different emotions like disappointment and sadness (whether at finding the right pet, in sports, feeling guilty for not helping a neighbor, or even dealing with his father traveling). ⠀ The diversity in the book is necessary for all to read, even for Muslims! Many times, Muslim children don’t have any idea about all the various cultures and different languages spoken by other Muslims all over the world, not to mention the different races Muslim are (Muslims are not just Arabs!!!), and this is very important to teach. Letting our children read and relate to more diverse characters increases their knowledge and expands their world-view, which helps them naturally grow up accepting and respecting people different than them.⠀ ⠀ price: each around 6 usb
