Sleepy Farmer
⭐️⭐️⭐️A new FAVORITE BOARD BOOK in my home!!!❤️❤️
Genre: Board Book
Ages: 0-3
Available: @compassbooks
Sooooo coool!!! This amazing new board book from author Shazia Afzal is a cute Islamic story the had vibes of Old Macdonald had a Farm, but in a totally unique and cool way!
The sleepy farmer is asleep…and it’s time for Fajr. The rooster crows and yet the farmer stays asleep. Then the hen chimes in. Then the horse, the cow, the sheep, the duck, all wake up and make such a loud noise they wake the cat that meows and wakes the farmer. He prays his Fajr at the Masjid and then feeds his animals, thanking them for waking him for fajr!
This sweet book repeats all the animals and their sounds every page, so that the reader and the kids repeat the animal sounds over and over, which is super fun and enjoyable, and spot on in a book for this age group!
I loved the farm animal learning in this book for Muslim kids (and noticeably the pig was absent lol). Both my baby and toddler enjoyed listening to the book and the repetition of the words was good for building their vocabulary and words.
I enjoyed the Islamic learning of the importance of waking up for Fajr prayer and the added bit that the Farmer went to the Masjid for congregation prayer, which is super rewarded and awesome to see in a book!
I also loved that the animals were thanked for waking the farmer for Fajr- and I discussed with my kids that even animals worship Allah!
Def recommend this book!!!
