Another wonderful book from Ruqaya's Bookshelf by Asmaa Hussein!
This one is about a little boy named Omar who snatches a piece of yummy baklava from the doorman of his building. He struggles with the guilt and dreams that baklava is falling from the sky! (My kids found this funny and slightly scary😂)
He confides in his mom, who helps him with rectifying the situation and making more baklava for the doorman, who initially thought the cat ate it😉 The story is based on the hadith of the Prophet (pbuh): “Follow a bad deed with a good deed to erase it.”
I love the warm illustrations and cultural references that seem to indicate that the story is set in Egypt. This a must read and my kids loved it; it is perfect for ages 5 and up!
