The Seerah Trail

There is a reason I rated this LearningRootsid puzzle high, and it is because there are so many beautiful details included: it is a seerah tool, geography tool, history tool, and fun game all on its own!⠀ ⠀ So many seerah lessons, and so many beautiful details from the Prophet’s (pbuh) life are included. ⠀ One of my favorite parts was the footsteps of the “hijrah route”. I had my kids follow the footsteps all the way from Mecca to Medina, with stops and stories at “Cave Thawr” (the famous cave of the spider web), and at Masjid Quba, the first Masjid ever built!⠀ ⠀ I love how the location of the mountain of Nur includes a cave with light coming out of it symbolizing ghar Hira, which was also another important story for the kids. Ghar Hira was where the first revelations of the Quran came via Angel Jibeeel.⠀ ⠀ My kid’s favorite story was the one of the moon splitting; the drawing of the moon split at the top of the puzzle was a wonderful addition, and my kids were amazed at this event in the seerah, and confused at how Quraish could not believe when they saw this amazing miracle!⠀ ⠀ Other places/stories on the puzzle include Jerusalem (Israa/Miraj), the Habasha (story of Najashi the kind Christian King and the migration of some of the Muslims to this wonderful and peaceful sanctuary Christian city), Taif (symbolized as a beautiful place with all its flowers, but also important to show the Prophet (pbuh) mercy and wisdom in not making harmful duaa against the people there after they had abused and hurt him), Mt. Uhud, Badr, Khaybar, and so much more!!⠀ ⠀ I plan on keeping this puzzle close while teaching my kids more about the seerah. It can even be made into a fun test by removing the words of the places and having the kids say the places they see by memory. ⠀ ⠀ Stay tuned for tomorrow’s review, which includes a children’s seerah book that goes perfectly with this puzzle! ⠀ ⠀ Both are from and don’t forget to apply the coupon MUSLIMMOMMYBLOG for 10% off!!
