The Wondrous Web by Razana Noor
This story is about the special spider that spun the web in front of the cave that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Abu Bakr (ra) were hiding in when they escaped from Makkah to Madina. It talks of how Allah ordered the spider to make it seem like no one had gone into the cave by spinning a web, and thus the people following the Prophet(pbuh)and hoping to murder him were fooled and left the cave untouched. This is a fun and meaningful story written in rhyme.
My children loved this story, the main reason being the lovely illustrations and the rhyming verses that the story is written in. They also felt like the spider was so cool, because it was blessed with saving the Prophet (pubs).
The story even highlights the importance of making duaa and it being answered, because the spider makes a duaa to Allah to be able to serve him! This story encourages children to always look at their own special qualities and use them in a beneficial way. It also helps them be more confident in their individuality, and not feel like they have to conform to how everyone else is, a super important quality!
