Yaseen's Big Dream

What a wonderful inspiring book for young boys by Author Umm Juwayriyah .⠀ ⠀ Yaseen is such an adorable and funny little boy. He loves to dream, because he can become anyone he wants to be in his dreams, and in the book he dreams that he is the President of the United States. ⠀ ⠀ Becoming President has its list of responsibilities, and sure enough, Yaseen is up to the task. He starts by leading his community in morning prayers. He serves lunches for everyone in every state and sends his grandmother to teach everyone how to grow their own food in gardens, so that they don’t get hungry. He talks to other kids about being smart in school and even inspires them with his amazing basketball skills. (He wins every time😉) He makes inspirational speeches on television to all the little children like him. He ends the day with praying the night prayers in the oval office and watching the stars in the sky as him and his family eat cookies and drink lemonade.⠀ ⠀ I love how this story is full of imagination and creativity. It inspires little boys to make their own dreams and imagine what they want to be when they grow up. I even liked the political side to it and how it shows how important a President’s actions are to the country and betterment of society. It teaches children about the responsibility that leaders have to their constituents. ⠀ I love how there are Islamic influences in the story, like Yaseen making sure to pray on time, and the names of the characters and family members. But I like how the book is not preachy with the deen and the little boy is completely relatable to kids of all cultures. ⠀ Having diverse characters like Yaseen doing amazing things in books (like being President) is so heartwarming as a Muslim mother. We need more books like this to inspire our young children to be leaders of their communities.⠀

My children laughed the whole time I read them this book, and they greatly enjoyed it!
